The Journal of Industrial Relations (ISSN: 0022-1856) is published five times a year by SAGE Publications on behalf of the Industrial Relations Society of Australia. First published in 1958 by IRSA, it is currently edited by Dr. Bradon Ellem and Dr. Marian Baird of the University of Sydney. Professor Russell Lansbury, Professor and Associate Dean (Research) at the University of Sydney was a previous editor of the journal.

Scope

Journal of Industrial Relations aims to examine all aspects of employment relations by publishing papers with an interdisciplinary perspective. The journal also publishes qualitative and multi-method analyses, including theoretically-informed case studies and international and comparative papers. Journal of Industrial Relations focuses on the traditional concerns of industrial relations as well as studies addressing workplace, family and community.

Journal of Industrial Relations is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 0.430, ranking it 17 out of 22 journals in the category ‘Industrial Relations & Labor’.[1]
